The African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) is a not-for-profit research and education institute established in March, 2019. APNI’s mission is to develop and promote sustainable plant nutrition management and innovation through research, education, and extension.
APNI is registered in Morocco as an affiliate of, and is funded by, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), with its headquarters located in Benguerir, Morocco on the campus of UM6P.
Dr. Kaushik Majumdar has been appointed as the Director General and is in the process of organizing the new Institute.
All of the lnternational Plant Nutrition Institute's (IPNI) agronomic programs and staff from East, North and West Africa have been transferred to APNI. During the organizational process, IPNI’s former African agronomic programs will operate uninterrupted and are expected to expand as APNI adds more scientific staff and resources. In addition to Morocco, APNI offices are also operating in Kenya and Ivory Coast.
